Company Profile
We would like to introduce ourselves to your company. Please keep this letter on file for any future container-related services that you may require, or call us today for further information or a quote.
Company History
Omega Container was founded in 1997 by director Mark Cringle. Mark had been involved in the shipping industry for nearly 20 years and observed a niche in the marketplace for a company which would offer an all-round service to those needing containers for whatever reason. The company is located in Durban near the Durban Container Terminal, and has developed over time to be able to provide a variety of container-related services.
- Container Sales and Leasing
Omega has built up a fleet of approximately 170 second-hand containers, both 6m (20') and 12m (40') general purpose, high cube and aluminum types. These are available for sale from depots in Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Non-stock items such as refrigerated containers, open-tops and flat racks are sourced on request. Our prices are highly competitive, and you can be assured that the containers you purchase are in top condition, as each one is personally inspected by an Omega representative.
For those times when a container is needed for a limited period of time only, Omega offers a leasing service on a weekly or monthly basis. We even go the extra mile and arrange transport for the Lessee to and from their premises, for an additional fee.

- Container Conversions
There are so many other uses for containers, and by taking advantage of Omega's conversion services you can convert a container for just about any use – ablution facilities, spaza- or tuck- shops, telephone kiosks or mobile site offices, to name but a few.

- Cabotage
There are times when a container has been used to send cargo to a client, and needs to be returned to the depot in the most cost-effective way. One of the most obvious methods is cabotage: to find a transporter who is running an unloaded truck to the area where the depot is located, and to use this transporter to return the container.
Omega offers cabotage at excellent rates, and acts as the liaison between container-owner and transporter. The system benefits all included – the container owner who obtains a cost efficient method of returning their container, and the transporter who is paid to carry the container instead of running an empty truck.

- Cross Hauls
Moving containers within a local area need not be a costly exercise. Omega Container will arrange our transporters to move containers between local depots, or from depot to terminal and vice versa. Omega already cross hauls approximately 2000 containers per month for various clients.
We understand that companies in this industry work to extremely strict deadlines, and have therefore extended our service in the Durban area to include the drawing up of Container Terminal Orders. We work within the set guidelines of Portnet to ensure that documents are passed as quickly as possible, and these are hand-delivered to our nominated transporters in order to ensure that cross haul deadlines are met on time.

The above is merely an outline of our current services. We pride ourselves on our flexibility, and are always open to requests that are slightly out of the ordinary. Whatever your container requirements, Omega Container are here to assist you. Further, these containers are only limited by the customers imagination.
